LINCOLN! STAHP!

They’re taking the China approach of “why go to all the trouble of designing cars that people hate when we can just copy the ones they like?”

The Chrysler 300 is also a pretty good fake Bentley.

No, see, Lincoln’s headlight are rectangles while Bentley’s are circles

Time to drag this beauty out again:
So here we are again, the bentley argument is stupid. Seriously. They’re very different. but as usual a large 4 door sedan is in fact shaped similarly to a large 4 door sedan.
Not commenting on the Navigator looking like anything other than crap. I hate it. And you know that’s a big thing for me to say.
Actually, if it looks like anything it looks like someone oversized an Audi Q7 and then melted the detail off of it.

Oh come on, they all look the same

Except a lot less of a copy.

Oh yes, the Navigator is dreadful.

Apparently the Ford styling boss told designer to make it look “as much like a Bentley as possible.”

Lincoln could be run as a quite lean business unit if they just sell body kits for Chrysler 300s like that.

Is there a reliable source for that?
I’m not defending Lincoln here, but lately there are a lot of similarities between automakers, and Lincoln gets all the hate. If you look at the new Alpine for example, it borrows elements from several other cars, and it’s praised by everyone.

The Chrysler 300 effect

I’ll give you the Bentley as inspiration, but not the Range Rover. And as far as the Bently goes, I don’t think they so much as copied it, but they used it for inspiration and improved on the styling. Sriously, the Lincoln looks better, as long as it gets to production looking like that, and not a watered down luxo barge.

Yes but I actually like it a lot. Why reinvent the wheel- especially when you don’t have the designers on staff to do it.

Bah. They look pretty different. They’ve borrowed some cues, but that’s how it goes. The premium cars have premium cues that others start to follow.
The bangle butt for example.

So you’re saying the Ford SUV looks like the Range Rover which everyone joked about looking like a Ford SUV?
In other breaking news: Giant 4-door sedan shares giant 4-door sedan proportions with other giant 4-door sedan. More on this as we get it.

It's just the floating roof thing

It was on Jalopnik IIRC

That is fairly distinctive and similar. But the RR does a black pillar too.

OMG this is like when people were swearing up and down that the 2015 Mustang looked like the Accord Coupe. They may share the same body style, but that’s as far as the similarities go. In fact, when Bentley raised hell over the Continental concept, I saw it as immature and insecure. I wanted to list the differences between the Bentley and the Lincoln, but the list would contain nearly every design cue...
